Previous ResultsChallenge 24: Cocktails

Cocktails! Definitely the most popular theme yet, our first full sell out! The judges were treated to a delicious selection of 15 boozey cupcakes made by our increasingly creative bakers

The competition was full of coconuts, cocktail glasses, zebra striped cake stands, plastic swords, pineapples and little umbrellas! Some extremely imaginative entries, and a lot of thought into presentation. Top marks for all the bakers who entered!

In the goodie bag there was a £99 beginners cupcake class kindly donated from our sponsor’s Posh & Swanky Cupcake classes, a Macaroon tin from our sponsors Gourmet Kitchenware, and a couple more cupcake themed goodies.

1st – Laura’s Strawberry Daiquiri

Laura came 1st place with her Strawberry Daiquiri cupcakes. These cupcakes were a vibrant red strawberry sponge topped with strawberry and lemon icing, some sprinkles and a jelly strawberry on top along with the token cocktail straw. Delicious, a worthy winner!

2nd – Steph’s Bellini’s

Steph made little shot glasses full of pieces of her Bellini cupcakes. The sponge was peach flavoured with a champagne whipped cream frosting, topped with gold fizz glitter, little flowers, a small slice of peach and a cocktail umbrella!

  • Michelle Ashton

Looks like I missed out on all the fun whilst I was on holiday in Turkey! (consumed too many real cocktails to make up for it though) All entries look fab! 3rd place winning cupcake looks ace, very imaginative. I could just eat the winning cupcake right now. Michelle :)
