Congratulations to Michelle who came 1st place with her Strawberry Trifle Cupcakes. These had a vanilla sponge filled with strawberry jelly and a creamy custard topped with fresh cream, sprinkles and a fresh strawberry. Seriously tasty.

New baker John came 2nd place with his Razzleberry Bomb cupcakes. The cakes were a vanilla sponge with raspberry jam centre, raspberry fondant topping made from lots of little balls, covered in raspberry compote and finished with a small snippet of basil. John won a teatowel and oven glove set.

We haven’t seen Ronda at IronCupcake since the good old Mojo days! Ronda’s cupcakes were plain chocolate sponge filled with black cherry conserve and Chambord (Black Raspberry Liqueur) infused ganache topped with Chambord cream cheese frosting.

Becky created these victoria sponge cakes filled with strawberry coulis, fresh cream, and finished with strawberry and mint. She also dressed for the occasion by wearing strawberry earrings and a cherry top!

Becky created these chocolate sponge cakes with raspberry jam, topped with raspberry buttercream and a fresh raspberry.

Mel’s entries were a strawberry and lemon sponge with strawberry curd, and a lemon cream cheese frosting.

Rebecca’s cakes were strawberry sponge with strawberry & Rosewater jam, topped with vanilla frosting and a fresh strawberry.

Catherine’s cakes were a strawberry sponge, topped with swiss buttercream finished with a variety of summer berries.

Em’s cupcakes were a lemon sponge topped with mixed berry frosting.

Sarah made vanilla and strawberry cupcakes filled with strawberry and white chocolate fondant topped with vanilla buttercream, fresh strawberries and rose meringue.
