Previous ResultsChallenge 22: The Perfect Pair

Wow, the Perfect Pair was a perfect theme, what a great evening! 15 stunning entries and a hoard of hungry judges came to the Adelphi for an evening of cake, drinks, and fun. I was delighted to see a lot of new faces trying out the competition for the first time. And, as always, big thanks to the regulars! We had a great goodie bag for the winner: The IronCupcake canvas bag and certificate, a £30 Jamie’s Italian Restaurant voucher, a 24 hole mini cupcake pan from our fabulous sponsors Gourmet Kitchenware and a cupcake recipe book. See below who bagged this great prize……

1st – Charlotte’s Ben & Jerry’s Cupcakes

A very clever idea, a great interpretation of the theme, Ben & Jerry’s. They are the Perfect Pair. Charlotte made Phish Food cupcakes, which were a chocolate brownie sponge with marshmallow pieces, with a caramel and chocolate ganache frosting, finished with Marzipan fish. Well done Charlotte!

2nd – Susie’s Banoffee Cupcakes

2nd place this month was Susie’s (@StickyPinny) tasty Banoffee Cupcakes

These cakes are a banana sponge willed with caramel, and topped with a caramel buttercream and banana chips, and for coming runner up, won a Cupcake recipe book. Susie has a blog and regularly publishes her recipes, check out her blog here

3rd – Katie’s Black & White Cupcakes

New baker Katie (@katieepotatie) came 3rd place with her black & white cupcake creations

Katie’s cakes were an organic dark chocolate sponge with white chocolate buttercream and chocolate sprinkles. Another great interpretation of the theme. Thank you to Katie for letting me use her photo.
